Are you tired and do you need detox, relax, slow down, and recharge with energy from nature?

This holiday in Slovakia, lasts from Thursday evening until Sunday (3,5 days) and will cleanse your mind from stresses and worries. The whole program is already planned and is included in price, alleviating the need to spend time organising a program or deciding what and where to eat. You just need to come to Čierny Balog and open yourself up to adventure, experience culture with us, with locals, and surrounded by vibrant nature.
The max. size of a group is up to 6 people, either your friends or fellow travellers.

And now the best! You decide how much of the program you want to do with us. You do not have to worry about what to do, what you will prepare for lunch or dinner, where to go.

With this product, you can select the program yourself and it’s up to you if you prefer very actionable, or just a little action or complete relaxing stay. The basic price of the tour includes accommodation, breakfast and dinners and one lunch. You also have a tour guide for the whole stay to help you what’s worthy to see and where to go, as well as a group of great people with whom you can share your impressions and experiences.

Close your eyes for a moment and imagine how you wake up in the morning and the only sounds you hear are beautiful sounds of sheep bells, birds and nearby forest noise. Above the mountains, the morning haze is up, the air is fresh, and you go through the surrounding meadow in your wellies. Do you like this idea? If so, don’t hesitate to join us.

  1. Day 1 Arrival to the village

    We will arrive at the village Čierny Balog and settle into the accommodation in the apartments. We will breathe in fresh air and enjoy the local scenery and atmosphere, admiring the surrounding natural environment. We’ll all meet for a joined dinner at the cottage.

  2. Day 2 Test some of the original Slovak handicrafts

    After breakfast we will have time to get to know the area, finding your own ’hidden’ place to relax and explore the village. After a light lunch, you can go after your own program or you can purchase:

    Trip – Test some of the original Slovak handicrafts, where we will go to the nearby village and where we can try the traditional techniques how to be a shepherd, how works the mowing with a scythe, how to use a whip or other similar activitities under the guidance of local expert, who will talk to us about his life and the traditions he still puts into practice today. And as a bonus – we will have a ‘survival’ lesson in a local Slovak dialect and if we might lucky, we can try a local folklore costume. We will return to Čierny Balog in later afterfoon time, where we join the rest of the group.

    We’ll end up our day with at the campfire and grilling our own food.

  3. Day 3 Experience the wilderness of Horehronie

    After spending breakfast together we can continue to relax in Čierny Balog or you can discover the tips from our tour guide or perhaps you follow your own program.
    For those, who bought a:

    Trip – Wilderness of Horehronie – we will enjoy full day trip in the region.
    On our tour you can expect:
    – visit of open air museum – which includes ride with famous Černohorská train, wood cutting games, cheese or local schnapps tasting and later on a hike through the beautiful open air museum and forest of Horehronie with a famous tall fir or
    – a hiking tour with locals along Dobrohočský primavel forest and Drábsko visit. After our hike, we’ll visit a working farm and get a little of rest. After tasteful lunch we will get to know the farm more in detail, with its inhabitans and see how cheese is made. Afterwards we go for a well deserved exploration walk with horses.

    Upon return to Čierny Balog, you can rest or explore on your own and in the evening, we’ll meet again at a local cottage for supper.

  4. Day 4 Cycling tour through beautiful scenery

    Another great but last day for adventure and discovery.
    Those, who have decided to join:

    Trip – E-bike cycling tour – this time we have a little bit of a physical challenge as we explore the surrounding forest on a bicycle … but don’t worry, it’s not too difficult and you will be able to handle today’s cycling without getting a 2-day muscle ache 😊. You will get to know hidden places where no car or hike can reach. We will return at 14:00 and join the rest of the group.

    We say goodbye after a group lunch.

 

If you are determined to travel with us, the fastest and most convenient way is to fill in the Travel Agreement (the application form) via the Internet. The trip is obligatorily ordered after receiving the payment.

Yes, a guide that speaks Slovak, English, and perhaps another language.

By booking a tour and credited your amount to our account, you have a seat secured. In case, min. 20 days prior to the start of the trip, the minimum number of participants (4 or more) is not reached, we will suggest a new trip or we will refund you the money.

Yes, you can conclude a travel insurance with UNION insurance company through us. If you are interested in such a service, please mark it on your online tour application form. You can decide for a comprehensive insurance package or just a partial package.

We recommend a comprehensive insurance package for clients on the roads in Slovakia, including other risks such as luggage insurance, cancellation of stay, general liability, accident insurance, early return and unused services, cost of technical assistance for a rescue operation of EUR 1 per day.
Minimum travel insurance for general liability and accident insurance of EUR 0.30 per day (other services are not included).

If you are traveling abroad, we recommend to all our clients to make comprehensive travel insurance. Insurance costs EUR 2 per day and includes the following insurance risks:
Insurance of medical expenses abroad, assistance services abroad, baggage insurance, general liability for damage, cancellation of the holiday, unduly paid holiday, increased back-up costs, escort, early return, insurance of the cost of travel of a close person, in the case of a child’s illness, in the case of a non-road vehicle, delay of the means of mass transport, delayed embarkation, technical assistance in the rescue operation).

Unfortunately, no. In order to use UNION insurance, you need to work or live in Slovakia, meaning you are covered by mandatory Slovak health insurance.

 

If you are a person living and working abroad, you need to conclude a commercial insurance in your country of residence. I’m sure, you won’t have problem to find a company offering commercial travel insurance. In case of any issues or questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us on info@localvibe.sk.

If your clients already have some travel insurance (such as insurance along with a credit / debit card), you do not need additional individual insurance. However, it is important to find out which risks you are insured, what are the insurance sums and compare this with the comprehensive travel insurance offered by our travel agency.

The fundamental difference is that EHIC covers only medical expenses abroad, while commercial travel insurance (eg UNION) involves much more insurance risks (health insurance abroad, assistance services, luggage, liability for damage, injury, cancellation fee, unreported holiday, increased costs for return transfer, escort, early return, costs for travel of close person, costs of a child’s illness, costs of a non-road vehicle, delay of a transport vehicle, delayed embarkation on your holiday as well as technical assistance in rescue).

Nor is the scope of insurance coverage for medical treatment abroad the same for both types of insurance (for example, EHIC only applies to state-owned healthcare facilities, where the patient’s participation is the same as that of a national of a particular country. Commercial insurance is valid in both state and private healthcare facilities without a contribution up to the amount of the insurance sum. It means, that some risks are better covered by EHIC and others by commercial insurance). We therefore strongly recommend the combination of both insurance, ie to negotiate a complex travel insurance at tour operator and to take EHIC with you as well. EHIC can be issued free of charge at your health insurance company or you have it already on the reverse side of your health insurance card.

The travel contract also serves as a confirmation of your insurance. All will be handled online and you will receive pdf files. On request, we can print out the contract for you.

The difference is in the scope of insurance.
Higher amount, ie 2,00 EUR/day (within Europe) or 1,00 EUR/day (within Slovakia) includes comprehensive travel insurance. The lower amount, 0,70 EUR/day (within Europe) and 0,30 EUR/day (within Slovakia), there is only insurance of medical expenses abroad in Europe, assistance services and liability for damages. In Slovakia, it only provides insurance for liability for damage and accident insurance.
Cheaper insurance clients use mainly for cheaper daily trips. We highly recommend comprehensive travel insurance for longer trips.

The easiest way to pay is via bank transfer to our account (listed in the contact, in the billing data). Please indicate the order number as a variable symbol. We are also currently working on card payments or Paypal, but at the moment it is still not possible and we ask for your patience.

We think we would take away some the exciting part of it, if we told you beforehand. Therefore, we will not inform you in advance and you will be able to get acquainted during your stay.

Personal expenses are a matter for every passenger and are not included in the price of the trip. The amount of pocket money varies depending on the country, type and length of your trip and your needs. However, take a certain amount of cash with you if a payment terminal is not available at the location, or it will be small amounts that will not be accepted by the card. If you are frequent user of credit cards, you will succeed in most countries with Master Card and Visa. However, we recommend that at least half of the money to be taken in cash. At the very least, you avoid problems with ATMs or the absence of payment terminals in less developed regions and in the countryside.

Standardly we provide our clients with 2-bed rooms. However, if you would like to be accommodated in a separate room, please notify us at your request and we will try to meet your expectation, or we will notify you about the extra charge for a single room.

The majority of our tours include breakfast, lunch and dinner. So please check the itinerary of your trip to check out, when you won’t need to worry about your stomach.

You will be notified of this possibility not later than 20 days before your scheduled departure (by e-mail or post). It does not mean that you have to automatically forget about your vacation. You have a choice of options right away. We offer you an alternate date of the same trip, so you can choose a similar or the same tour. Yes, of course! We do not have the slightest problem to prepare a thematically diverse tour for individual travelers as well as larger groups (romance, adventure, business, congress, teambuilding, …). However, it should be borne in mind that organizing such a trip takes a while (while working together towards a program that will meet all your expectations) and at the same time, the costs will be most probably higher than one of our offered tours on our web.
Therefore, we recommend contacting us for at least 2 months prior to the scheduled holiday leave. We will provide complete service for you, from transport to dinner in the requested location. We will be happy if you could contact us and let us know your idea of a holiday: info@localvibe.sk .

Check-in is possible on the day of arrival from 14:00 (in some hotels until 15:00).

Check-out rooms are required on departure day at latest by 10:00. The luggage will be stored at the reception of the hotel/apartment.

Since most of the holidays are in Slovakia, we assume that most of you will come with your own car. The best option, apart from a car, is to use public transport such as regular buses or train connections.
For example, you can get from Bratislava to Čierny Balog by regular bus service to Brezno and from there we will pick you up for a fee and transfer to your place of residence.

I was with a friend with Local Vibe on a weekend trip at Horehronie. I needed to be in the woods, run barefoot and relax in the nature. We wanted a travel company to have everything set up and prepared. I was but afraid, that it will also be very official and managed. When we arrived, I was pleasantly surprised that the whole weekend had a very natural flow. We had scheduled meetings with local people and producers, and it was actually completely natural, as if I had nothing planned. We tried traditional Slovak folk dresses from a local traditional dressmaker and we were dancing in them in the courtyard. It was fun and I felt like a diva. She had a really good homemade strudel and she packed them for us to take home 🙂. The food was still planned along the way, once we had a picnic with a bacon, then a lunch in the forest ... we could not even manage to eat everything. In the evening I made a fire in the fireplace and we roasted bacon like when we were children, but now also with good wine 😊 It was a super cool weekend with nice and friendly local people, as if I had come home. We walked barefoot in the woods ... I did not even think they were so beautiful and we have it all at home.
